Admission Procedure for 2nd Batch of Session
2006-2007
Eligibility
The minimum requirement for
admission to the programme is: -
A three-year Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in any discipline recognized by
the Association of Indian Universities as eligible for Post-Graduate studies in
Management and with atleast one year work experience.
PGCBM
Prospectus & Application
The cost of Registration for the
PGCBM course is Rs. 800/-. The applicants can obtain the PGCBM Prospectus from
the XIMB office counter in person by cash payment. You can also send your
payment directly to XIMB by sending a draft in favour of 'Xavier Institute of
Management' payble at Bhubaneswar, with your full name, address, phone
number and e-mail written on its reverse side and thereafter you will be sent
the Prospectus.
Alternatively, payment can be
made by directly depositing in any Core Branch of SBI (in XIMB A/c No.
30040537421) or UTI Branch (in XIMB A/c No. 024010100084039) of your city -
thereafter you can fax us the counterfoil of the payment (Fax No. 0674-2300995)
as well as your details like name, address, phone number and e-mail written
beside it to enable us to send the Prospectus to you.
Each PGCBM prospectus carries a
unique User ID and Password for each student which would be used to access the
XIMB PGCBM website for online student registration. The student would use the
User ID and Password to fill up the online application form at the XIMB Website
(www.ximb.ac.in/pgcbm). Once registered, the student would have access to the
XIMB web, where relevant information regarding admissions would be posted from
time to time.
Selection
Process
After review of the candidate
profiles, XIMB would intimate the shortlisted candidates regarding the venue and
time for their interview. The interviews would be held through Video
Conferencing from certain identified Reliance Webworlds. The final selection
will be based on the candidate�s performance in the Personal Interview (which
factors in the past academic record and relevant work experience).
Admission
Candidates who are selected for
admission to the Post-Graduate Programme must indicate their acceptance of the
admission offer and all related conditions, by paying the first instalment of
fees as detailed in the letter of admission before the date stipulated therein.
The classes would begin on 9th September, 2006. At this time the students will
be given a Manual of Policies and Regulations, which will be binding on them.

The entire programme consists
of 1 year duration, having 240 hours of live video-conferencing and 60 hours
of rigorous on-campus classes at XIMB spread over eight to ten days. The regular
VC classes would be held on weekends, i.e., Saturdays (6 to 9 pm) and Sundays (2
to 5 pm).
Certification
The Institute awards the Post
Graduate Certificate in Business Management to students who have
successfully completed the entire course work as well as all academic
requirements as mentioned in the Manual of Policies, which will be provided to
the students who are admitted.
On Campus
Stay at XIMB
The PGCBM programme includes an
eight to ten day on-campus stay at XIMB. During this period, the students would
be exposed to 60 hours of rigorous real-time classroom interaction with the
renowned faculty of XIMB. A number of skill development programmes, that require
intense group activities would be held during this time. The students would also
have the opportunity to access the other world class facilities at XIMB.
PGCBM Fee
Structure
The total course fee of the
PGCBM Programme is Rs. 1,50,000 (Rupees one lakh fifty thousand only). The
total course fee has been divided into three instalments, which a student is
required to pay in the following schedule: -
1st Instalment: Rs. 60.000
- At the time of acceptance of admission offer
2nd Instalment: Rs. 45,000 - By the end of the third month of the PGCBM
programme
3rd Instalment: Rs. 45,000 - By the end of the sixth month of the PGCBM
programme
The fee includes the boarding and
lodging expenses of the students for their on-campus stay at XIMB. The students,
however, would have to bear their travel / transportation expenses for this
on-campus programme.
Mode of
Payment
All fees are to be paid by cash
or Demand Draft made out in favour of "Xavier Institute of Management,
Bhubaneswar", and drawn on the State Bank of India, Fortune Towers
Branch, Bhubaneswar or on UTI Bank, Satyanagar Branch, Bhubaneswar.
