Organize Annual Inter-Collegiate Cultural Festival 'Mélange 2007'

Mélange is K. J. Somaiya
Institute of Management Studies' biggest annual inter-collegiate festival that
captures both the business as well as the cultural spirit of students. Billed as
72 hours of non-stop 'entertainment', Mélange 2007 is a melting pot of
management graduates from different B-schools battling out their wits in a blend
of business and cultural events.
The theme of Mélange 2007, is
"The Age of the Gurus". Apart from the cultural and fine-arts events with
their universal appeal, Mélange also has a host of challenging management games
to tickle the wits of the most promising students in the quest for the
management gurus of tomorrow.

Battle Royale
A soldier once asked, "What is it that inspires a soldier most?" and Caesar
replied, "It is the sight of the biggest battlefield." This is what Battle
Royale offers - an arena so large that it resembles every bit like the real
business world. It is a simulation where B-schools lock horns and run their
business, right from arranging land to managing capital, from recruiting
employees to handling media, and everything that the real world has to offer.
Put aside all the B-school ratings, because this is the real test, this is War!
Case Study
Consider, Interpret, Decide and Implement. These are the bywords a businessman
lives by. Here, these bywords are put to real test as they manifest themselves
in a Live Case Study which contestants analyze on the spot.
Free Enterprise
They say necessity is the mother of invention. If so, then an idea is the seed
for progress. And what would the world be without ideas like Google and Hotmail?
Free Enterprise is a board for business plans, judged by those who have already
proved their mettle. This is where the budding entrepreneurs bring forth their
business plans and the best one wins.
Chequemate!
In Chequemate, some of the best quizzing teams will come together and trivia
will bounce across the walls like tennis balls. Back and forth, in a volley of
knowledge, the best teams will compete to decide who the crowning champion is.
Devil's Advocate
A debate, in true court-room style, complete with a judge and lawyers fighting
for their clients. Teams put forth arguments to save their case and win their
clients a round in the next level.

your run-of-the-mill dumb charades. With its twists and turns, new exciting
rounds, it's sure to make you 'dumbfounded'. It guarantees a whole lot of fun
and assures the best of creativity at display. Welcome to the land of the
'unspoken'!!!
Ad Versed
"Many a small thing has been made large by the right kind of advertising," -
Mark Twain. So here is your opportunity to think out of the box, to portray your
best selling skills, to test your creative skills and push it to the edge. An
event which would test the best marketer amongst you, one who would be able to

If you think you can speak well, then think again!!! Here is an event which
tests your very fundamentals of the spoken English Language. An event wherein
