Introduction

Bharathidasan Institute of Management (BIM ),established in the year 1984,has pioneered the concept of a business school with a industry linkage through its symbiotic relationship with BHEL, in terms of academic inputs and continuous industry exposure.

Courses Offered

Masters in Business Administration: (MBA)

Two-year full time residential MBA Programme with specializations offered in Marketing, Finance, Operations, Systems and Human Resource Management.

Eligibility
1. Bachelor�s or Post Graduate Degree or its equivalent in any discipline with a minimum of 50% marks.
2. Final Year Degree students may also apply, subject to completion of the degree requirements with minimum 50% marks by July 2006.
3. CAT/XAT Scores are used for shortlisting candidates who apply for admission to BIM.
4. All applicants to BIM should take either CAT (Conducted by IIMs on November 20, 2005 ) OR XAT test (conducted by XLRI on January 08, 2006 )

Admission Process
BIM takes XAT / CAT scores, followed by, Group Discussion and Personnel Interview by the institute.

How to Apply

Prospectus and Applications can be obtained by any of the following ways:

1. By sending a Demand Draft for Rs.1000/- (SC/ST Rs.600/-) along with two self-addressed slips by regular mail to the BIM address given below.
2. By online registration at www.bim.edu with an option to pay either by Demand Draft by Credit Card.  For Credit card payments an amount of Rs.1,075/- should be paid instead of Rs.1000/- and (for SC/ST Rs.675 should be paid instead of Rs.600/-)
3. Demand Draft should be drawn in favour of Bharathidasan Institute of Management payable at Tiruchirappalli.

Facilities

Library
The institute has a library with a comprehensive collection of more than 10,000 volumes, journals, periodicals, Online Databases (like EBSCO, CRISINFAC, IBID, DELNET, etc.), video tapes and CDs on Management.

Impressive collection of video cassettes on a wide range of managerial issues augment the library. Students also have access to the BHEL main library and the central library of Bharathidasan University.

Students can browse the catalogue of our Library, avail the facility to view E-journals, CDs available (in our Library) through PCs allotted for this purpose.

Computer Center
2 Computer centers functioning 24 hours a day, 7 days a week provide the students with a comprehensive collection of management related software and business specific database. The Center is connected to the internet by an exclusive 512 Kbps leased line connection.

The computer centers at BIM are equipped with the following equipments:
         Two IBM (Windows 2000 Servers), X Series 220, P-III 933/1 GB RAM, 36GB SCSI
         Two Intel P-III (Red Hat Linux Web Server)
         20 Intel P-IV 3 Ghz/256 MB DDR RAM/80GB/15" Color Monitor
         30 Intel P-III 256MB, 20GB Machines
         15 Intel P-III 1 Ghz/128 MB RAM/40 GB HDD/15" Color Monitor
         23 Intel P-III 128 MB RAM, 2GB Machine

Classrooms and Auditorium 
All classrooms are fully air conditioned and equipped with audio visual aids like LCD projector, Direct Projector, Television and a computer with multi media facilities with Internet facility. The institute also has access to a large centrally airconditioned auditorium.

Hostels
The course is fully residential with separate hostels for men and women. Both the hostels are located within the BHEL complex in the vicinity of the institute. The Men's hostel has fully furnished rooms on double occupancy basis.
